Michael Malapert completes the hidden interior of a hotel in Paris
Michel Malapert completed a stylish interior for ‘dandy’, a speakeasy Hotel situated in Paris, France. hidden inside a Restaurant in the dynamic district of les halles, the hotel offers a unique experience that projects you into a modern dandy’s house. traditional Parisian design meets intricate works of art, while a wide palette of materiality incorporates elements of leather, velvet, solid wood and terrazzo, to generate a visually intriguing, yet cozy and comfortable living environment.

a meeting place for Parisians
in the purest Parisian way of life, hotel dandy by michael malapert (find out more here) has a protected patio that allows you to be in touch with the energy of the city. this elegant terrace, made up of wicker gatti armchairs and an art deco facade, is also the space that introduces guests to the living environment of the hotel. the first thing visitors encounter is the bar, which follows the traditional language of Parisian cafes – there is a zinc counter and small brass columns, but with a modern twist. the bar serves as a coffee shop in the morning and turns into a cocktail bar in the evening. the remaining space on the ground floor is dedicated to a Mediterranean restaurant.
the further you go into the hotel, the more comfortable the seats become – chairs, then armchairs, then sofas. you will find different types of seats suitable for different times of the day and for different customers. in this space you can eat, work, have a meeting, have a drink with friends, have a coffee to take away. the hotel dandy is designed as a place where hosts and parisians mingle.

refined dandy interior
the touch and surprise of the dandy lobby is the cozy lounge, where the check-in desk is located, welcoming guests before they head to their rooms. graphic rugs, velvet curtains, and various artworks underscore the hotel’s modern dandy house theme.
a window between the sleeping area and the bathroom gives a feeling of space to all the rooms. they are all designed like small Parisian lofts. the bed is dramatized by a headboard combining two forms, “one is feminine and the other is masculine”, explains the design team. meanwhile, a black decorative braid on the walls further accentuates the refinement of a dandy interior.
