Growing up, we all had to help around the house with a chore or two, but a 14-year-old boy felt his parents made him “do child labor by forcing him to do household chores.”

The Chinese boy reportedly went to the police station to file a complaint against his father for taking his smartphone and asking him to help around the house.

Deeming the punishment unfair, the child snuck out of the house while his father was not looking and went to the police station to lay the charge.

The duty officers were confused about the boy’s complaint and decided to accompany him to his home to better understand the situation. When he told the boy’s father what his son had accused him of, the stunned parent explained what had happened, that he had just picked up the boy’s phone and made him do household chores.

Under Chinese law, housework is not considered child labor. Fortunately, the father had no problem. However, the policeman advised the father to discipline his son, adding that taking his smartphone away for a while seemed like a good idea.

To this the boy replied:

“Do you really think I only have this cell phone?” It’s so naive of you!

The teenager has since been criticized on social media for acting wirelessly as parents are urged to talk to their child before he does anything worse.

This case is similar to that of the man who sued his parents for giving birth to him without his permission.

The man identified as Raphael Samuel has argued that despite his “excellent relationship” with his family, he cannot stand the idea that giving birth is synonymous with “kidnapping and slavery”.

Samuel, originally from Mumbai and “anti-natalist”, argues that it is unfair to subject a child to the “rigmarole” of life because his parents chose to have fun.

In an interview with The Print, he said

“I love my parents and we have a great relationship, but they had me for their joy and pleasure.
“My life has been amazing, but I don’t see why I should put another life in the school fun and find a career, especially when they didn’t ask to exist. “
